Orthodox Christian Student Retreat: November 5-7
“What Does God Want Me To Do With My Life?” is the theme for an Orthodox Christian student retreat on November 5-7 in Fishers, Indiana.
All Orthodox Christian college students are invited. The conference will include a keynote talk on Saturday morning by Fr. Peter Gillquist, a founding leader of the Campus Crusade for Christ and Evangelical Orthodox Church. Fr. Gillquist is currently director of missions and evangelism for the Antiochian Orthodox Church. The retreat master will be Fr. James Ellison, pastor of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Urbana, Illinois, and adviser to Orthodox students at the University of Illinois. Several University of Illinois students will attend the conference.
The conference is sponsored by the Ball State Orthodox Christian Fellowship and will be held at the parish house of St. George Orthodox Church on 10748 E. 116th Street in Fishers (one mile east of I-69). The program begins with 6:00 Divine Liturgy followed by dinner on Friday. It will include a dinner-dance on Saturday evening featuring American and Middle Eastern music at St. George Church. It concludes with Divine Liturgy and brunch at St. George on Sunday morning. Other program highlights include short talks by lay leaders and former OCF student leaders about how God helped them discover their vocations. Free to members of the Ball State OCF and a $20 registration will cover the cost of meals for others.
